The works to tarmac the track in the Recreation Ground should have finished Tuesday 20th February 2024. Unfortunately, a miscalculation with the amount of tarmac needed means the contractor is coming back on Saturday 24th February to finish the work.
This means that some spaces in the car park adjacent to the play area on Teston Road will not be available from 8am to 1pm on Saturday 24th February (this is weather dependent).
As per the previous closure, the spaces being used are abutting the recreation ground entrance, so the disabled bay and 4 other spaces will be out of use. The contractor will be erecting signage in advance for regular users.
We apologise once again for any inconvenience this will cause, and ask for your co-operation to park elsewhere for this time.
The next phase of works to install the equipment is scheduled to begin on 18th March. This work will take up to 2 weeks and some closures of parking bays will also be needed. We will provide more information before the work begins.
