Parishes, voluntary and community groups and residents can now borrow a thermal imaging camera from TMBC. Thermal imaging cameras help to identify where homes are losing energy by using colour-coded images to show cold-spots, draughts or heat is escaping from your home. The camera can be used to help take action to improve energy efficiency and help save on energy bills.
All the information about the scheme, a user guide to the camera, and the booking form are on our website here: www.tmbc.gov.uk/thermal-camera .
Note that the camera works best when there is a larger temperature difference between inside and outside (e.g. when you have the heating on a cold evening). It is too mild for good readings this week, but please do use the booking form to reserve the camera in advance for the coming winter months.
If you think any other community groups or residents may be interested in borrowing the camera and tackling cold this winter, please feel free to share information about the scheme.
Any questions, please contact Carrie Spencer on climate.change@tmbc.gov.uk
